Thought for the Week   Winter Spirit Week Dress-Up Days Unit 6: Quadratic Functions This week, we will continue with our study of quadratic functions.  During class on Monday, we will focus on how to use the quadratic formula to solve any quadratic equation.  We will then take a look at how we can solve real-world application problems that use quadratic functions.

Thought for the Week Exam Schedule PreCollege Math - Unit 5 Summative Since we took our second EMPT attempt before our winter break, our exam period will be used to complete our unit 5 summative activities.  For this exam period, students should expect to complete the Blackboard (mostly multiple choice) portion of the summative as well as the paper summative for the unit.  Students must complete all work through unit five before the end of the semester.  Students who need additional help or need to catch up on missing work are invited to come in during our review/conferencing times.  I'm here to help!

Thought for the Week Semester Exam Schedule Unit 5: Racial and Complex Expressions This week, we will continue working with radical and complex expressions.  Specifically, we will start talking about imaginary numbers.  Students will revisit the concept of the number "i" that is used to represent the square root of negative one.  Students will learn how to work with these expressions, known as complex expressions, and will learn how to solve equations that involve radical and complex numbers.
